What do you think about the settlement?

Is ODA admitting that it infringed Autodesk's trademark by mimicing the Trusted DWG watermark? It sounds that way to me. I'm not a lawyer, but I doubt that this lawsuit has set any precedents that would affect future disputes. Perhaps that was an easy bargaining chip for ODA to give to Autodesk without any real consequences. What do you think?

Why not ask Arnold van der Weide (chairman of the ODA, and president of the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium), who is the one who negotiated this agreement? I can see no basis, at this point, for him not speaking directly and openly about the situation.

I would certainly welcome Mr. van der Weide's response, as, I'm sure, would the ODA members that frequent this site.
